Racing Master How to Drift

Updated: May 26, 2026Patch Season 26S3Drift gauge first

Use this page to build a repeatable drift chain on one route before you touch tuning or drift score math. The drift gauge is your main signal—not forum copy or old clip setups.

Drift missions and event scoring rules are defined on the live mission text. Gauge behavior is observed in the current global build — not copied from other racing games.

Tuning before a repeatable chain hides the real problem.

TL;DR

Racing Master How to drift without guessing

  • Pick one car you already control and one corner or short route; do not rotate both every run.
  • Enter slower than your instinct—small angle first, then extend only when the gauge stays stable.
  • Watch the drift gauge: a steady chain beats one flashy angle that breaks on exit.
  • Change only one variable per session (speed, angle, or one control/tuning slider).
  • If the chain keeps breaking, slow entry and counter-steer earlier instead of adding power.

Steps

  1. Open Settings and note your current steering assist and drift-related controls so you can revert after tests.
  2. Queue a practice route or Time Trial corner you can repeat in under two minutes per attempt.
  3. Choose one car from your garage that you already finish cleanly in Standard or Sports.
  4. On the first runs, initiate a short drift at ~70–80% of your usual entry speed and hold the chain for 2–3 seconds.
  5. Read the drift gauge each run: stable fill = keep the line; flicker or drop = reduce angle or speed.
  6. After five clean chains on the same line, adjust one tuning or control setting and re-test the same corner.
  7. When basics hold, open Drift scoring for event/daily score goals or Tuning guide if the car still fights the line.

Common mistakes

  • Switching car, route, and tuning in the same session so you cannot tell what fixed the chain.
  • Chasing maximum angle before you can hold a short chain through one corner.
  • Practicing in ranked or random missions with different surfaces and calling it “drift doesn’t work.”
  • Skipping the gauge and copying a video setup that does not match your assists or car grade.
  • Jumping to Extreme-class cars before Standard drift missions and gauge reads feel automatic.

When to leave this page

  • You need event score math before a stable chain — open Drift scoring only after gauge reads are repeatable.
  • The problem is car choice for ranked, not drift execution — use Tier list or Cars database instead.
  • You are optimizing tuning codes without a fixed corner — Tuning guide comes after one clean line.

Frequently asked questions

What is the fastest way to learn drifting in Racing Master?

Fix one car and one corner, enter slower than you think, and use the drift gauge to keep a short stable chain before you chase angle or score.

Should I change tuning before I can drift consistently?

No. Get a repeatable chain on default or light tuning first. Tuning only helps after you can tell whether the problem is execution or setup.

Which car class is best for learning drift on Global?

Start with a Standard car you already finish cleanly in ranked dailies. Sports works once the chain is stable; Extreme is for later—not your first practice car.

Does drift practice count for ranked RP?

No. Drift missions and ranked RP are separate daily tracks. Finish ranked dailies first if today’s job is progression, then practice drift.

What to do next

After the chain is repeatable, move to scoring, setup, or your daily drift mission—not all three at once.
